We have taken the decision to add an extra member to the team here at St Joseph’s. Max the Sprocker Spaniel will be joining us in the Summer term to read with children and provide some nurture and therapy support during wellbeing sessions.
All chidlren have taken home letters explaining our rationale behind getting a school dog and permission slips have been shared with all families.
Max start his training in May and hopefully he will be ready to be in school full time from September. He has already met all staff and children and pops in for visits to get used the sights, sounds and smells in school so that he is happy in his new surroundings.
He has already featured in the press as the Star covered his arrival at ST Joseph’s.
