Welcome to Oaks

Our class teacher is Miss Atkinson

Our Teaching Assistant is Mrs Brockbank.

There's lots of useful information in our pages including helpful websites and upcoming dates to remember.

Our Year 6's are very busy at the moment getting SATs ready! We are busy working hard and practising our maths arithmetic and reasoning skills so we can showcase our skills during SATs week (May 14th - 17th).

Alongside this and with our Year 5 friends in Oaks we will be practising our SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammer) knowledge and revising areas we are still finding tricky with some daily bootcamps and games.

In our English lessonswe are busy writing letters to Mr Hickey to persuade him why we should have more animals in school...  watch this space to see if we've been persuasive enough with our letter writing skills!

We will also be linking our writing and maths to this terms Discover topic... Around the World.  Oak Class will be taking an exciting journey of discovery around the globe stopping off at different locations to find out about the physical and human geography of different places and making scientific links to our learning along the way too: properties of materials, animals including humans, plants etc.                                                                                                                                  The starting point on our learning journey this term is The Commonwealth Nations and data handling using data from the games.

Although this half term is always an especially busy one for the Year 6 children, hopefully we can also start to enjoy the spring sunshine (fingers crossed) and more outdoor learning and outdoor PE sessions in our wonderful school grounds.
